It’s official! We’re out of the gates…

I’m thrilled to announce three things:

Date: TEDxPotomac will be held Thursday May 20th, 2010.  This is the week before O’Reilly’s Gov 2.0 Expo and may open some great sponsorship & speaker opportunities that are in the works.

Website: www.tedxpotomac.com: Ben Hofer did a fantastic design, Russell Heimlich built out a great wordpress implementation, and Steph Hay wrangled all the details without even breaking a sweat. They’ve built a professional, friendly and informative site that is an excellent reflection on our event.

Venue: Last but not least – we have secured what I think may be the perfect venue: the Betts Theater at George Washington University’s Marvin Center.  It’s an intimate, modern, black-box theater that holds 400+ people, with dramatic lighting and without any barriers between stage and audience. Very fitting for a TEDx event.

What’s more, we have a remarkable space for lunch — including a small stage (that we may use for lunchtime programming) and an outdoor terrace.
